… with a cultural offer that shines in events like the International Film Festival, the Film Festival Terror, the Jazz Festival, La quincena musical  or the Kutxa Kultur Festibala and this year, under the designation of the city European Capital Culture 2016 (DSS2016), multiplies in a host of events, among which are those organized by the AEIP and EFIB: the XI International Congress of Soil and Water Bioengineering with various activities held throughout the year with the bioengineering  in our river Urumea as protagonist.

PALACIO MIRAMAR. CONGRESS VENUE

The XI International Congress of Bioengineering Landscape has chosen the Miramar Palace, located in the Antiguo Quarter , where the first human settlement in the city emerged as Congress Venue.

English-style palace with neogothic decorative elements, built in 1893 by order of the Spanish Royal House, facing the Bay of La Concha. Its  interior rooms  retains the original design, as the White Room, the Music Hall, the Hall Wood, the Petit Salon, the Library and the Royal Dining Room. The rest of the palace has undergone several renovations in order to increase its  functionality.

Its gardens, between the beaches of La Concha and Ondarreta descend gently into the sea and provide one of the most beautiful views of the city.

Followed the River Urumea course of its various sections, the XI International Congress of Bioengineering Landscape reaches the sea which has been viewed from its Venue. We say goodbye of our congress at the Aquarium, one of the landmarks of the city, built in the pier in the picturesque fishing village and very close to the Old Town.

With two plants dedicated to maritime heritage of Gipuzkoa and its famous tunnel 360º , it is one of the most visited tourist spots in Donostia. In it  we can find more than 200 Cantabrian species and a variety of tropical species.
